T&Cs

Please read all information below before placing an order. By completing a purchase you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these terms.

About our tubers

All dahlia tubers available for sale have been grown from tuber divisions or cuttings from our own growing stock in rural Gisborne, New Zealand, for at least one season, most for three or more seasons.

Tubers come in many shapes and sizes. Most orders will contain a single tuber; some may include a small clump. Size varies and is largely variety dependent. Even the smallest tuber will grow into a beautiful, healthy plant. All tubers are inspected for visible eyes at dividing time and cut ends are dipped in cinnamon.

Presale and stock numbers

Initial presale stock numbers are set conservatively to manage risk, as tubers must store over winter after digging. In the unlikely event that a variety does not store well, we will contact you promptly to offer a full refund or a replacement variety.

In the unlikely event of a variety mislabel, please send confirmation of your order and photos so we can discuss a remedy, refund or replacement in the following season.

On arrival

Please check your tubers when they arrive. If there are any concerns, email us with details and photos within 7 days of the package arriving so we can discuss and remedy as necessary. Basic care and planting instructions are included with every order.

Tuber care and storage

The purchaser is responsible for the care of tubers between arrival and planting time. Dahlia tubers naturally experience some shrivelling during storage, this is normal and will not affect the plant's ability to shoot and grow healthily.

Disease

Best practice steps are taken at every stage to prevent the introduction or spread of disease. New varieties are quarantined in a separate growing area for a minimum of one season. Tools are sanitised between plants during the growing season and between each tuber clump at digging and dividing time. All tubers are carefully inspected at planting, lifting, dividing and dispatch.

Please be aware that disease can be present in existing soil and can be transmitted by insects or gardening tools during the growing season. We take no responsibility for any disease that appears during or after the growing season.
